Greetings from Cape Town

Grateful to be HOME from home, I’m back in the land of my birth to host a delegation of Black faith-rooted community organizers from California for a 10-day trans-national encounter in building people power to organize, mobilize and catalyze for systems change and realize more just and fair trans-national societies.

In collaboration with Senior Fellows in racial equity from the Atlantic Institute, we will explore long-term sustainable strategies in advancing people power for bold bridging and belonging in light of ongoing systemic drivers of breaking due to historical and contemporary marginalization.

We will be in places with people from the indigenous San on the Cape West Coast to the Townships, Cape Flats, Malay Courtes and suburbs to wrestle with the question: “As South Africa prepares for 30 years of democracy, what do we need to become to boldly bridge towards equitable belonging?”

Check-out this view from the balcony of our accomodation partner, I’Khaya Lodge and Conference Centre.
